Speech and Pronunciation

Some children find it incredibly hard to understand even the simplest of instructions, and keep getting the wrong end of the stick……

This workshop explores typical and late/disordered development of language in young children.

You will learn:

  • How children store and retrieve vocabulary
  • How auditory memory impacts on his comprehension
  • The difficulties he may encounter in understanding and using sentences
  • The difference between immaturity and when you need to refer for more help
  • Practical classroom strategies to help him use his language skills more effectively

Naomi will demonstrate simple assessments you can use to pinpoint the difficulties, and show you lots of practical classroom ideas of how to help. It is a must for nursery/primary teachers and assistants alike.
